SMS College of Arts and Science has established various statutory and institutional committees and cells to ensure effective governance, student welfare, academic quality, and a safe campus environment. These committees function in accordance with the guidelines of Bharathiar University, UGC, and Government regulations, promoting transparency, discipline, and continuous institutional development.

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of academic and administrative performance of the institution. The cell focuses on developing quality benchmarks, promoting innovative teaching-learning practices, encouraging research activities, and ensuring continuous improvement in institutional processes. IQAC regularly monitors academic performance and organizes quality enhancement programmes for faculty and students.

Anti-Ragging Committee

The Anti-Ragging Committee ensures a ragging-free campus environment and promotes mutual respect among students. The committee strictly follows UGC regulations regarding prevention of ragging and conducts awareness programmes to educate students about discipline and responsible behavior. Any complaints related to ragging are addressed promptly to maintain a safe and friendly campus atmosphere.

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

The Internal Complaints Committee is constituted to address issues related to harassment and to ensure a safe and respectful environment for students and staff. The committee functions in accordance with statutory guidelines and promotes gender sensitivity and awareness through various programmes. It provides a confidential and supportive platform for addressing grievances.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The Grievance Redressal Cell provides students and staff with an effective mechanism to express and resolve academic, administrative, or personal grievances. The cell ensures that complaints are addressed fairly and promptly, thereby promoting transparency and maintaining a harmonious academic environment.

Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell focuses on promoting awareness, safety, and empowerment of women students and staff. The cell organizes seminars, awareness programmes, and skill development activities aimed at enhancing confidence, leadership, and social awareness among women.

Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee ensures maintenance of discipline and proper conduct within the campus. The committee monitors student behavior, adherence to institutional rules, and promotes a culture of responsibility, respect, and ethical conduct among students.

Placement & Career Guidance Cell

This cell works in coordination with the Training & Placement Cell to guide students regarding career opportunities, higher education, and professional development. The cell organizes career counseling sessions, competitive exam guidance programmes, and interaction with industry professionals.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

The NSS unit of the college encourages students to participate in community service and social development activities. Through various outreach programmes, health camps, environmental awareness initiatives, and rural development activities, students develop social responsibility and leadership qualities.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell promotes entrepreneurial awareness and innovation among students. The cell organizes workshops, seminars, and interaction sessions with entrepreneurs to encourage students to explore self-employment and start-up opportunities.
